FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does a dermatologist do?

Dermatologists such as Dr Ndongeni are doctors who specialise in treating skin, hair and nail disorders. Eczema, psoriasis, acne and skin cancer are just a few of the conditions that dermatologists treat.

When should you see a dermatologist?

It’s important to see a dermatologist if you are experiencing skin, hair or nail-related problems. This can occur at any age but most often begins to cause concern in the adolescent years. Even if you don't have skin concerns, you should see a dermatologist annually to rule out any future problems. Additionally, dermatologists can also treat cosmetic concerns, providing non-surgical aesthetic treatments for certain skin types.

Will your medical aid cover all procedures?

This will be determined by your medical aid policies on dermatological procedures. Please consult below for further information about the medical aids with whom we have an affiliation.

What medical aids do we accept?

We accept all medical aids.

Is a referral necessary?

Some medical aids require a referral letter, while others do not. If you are unsure, please contact your medical aid, and they will advise.

How do you book an appointment?

Please call reception to book an appointment. We also have a WhatsApp line you can use (0636221849). Alternatively, you can email us or submit an appointment request via our online contact form, and we will get back to you.

How do you prepare for a dermatology appointment?

If you have a medical aid that requires a referral letter, make sure you have it from your general practitioner. It is important to confirm your dermatology appointment; reception will assist with that.
